Nebraska SkillsUSA Championship, officially known as the State
Leadership and Skills Conference (SLSC), is an annual event that brings
together over 1,600 students from across Nebraska to compete in more
than 100 career and technical education contests.
The 2025 conference is scheduled for April 8-10 at the Heartland Events Center and Fonner Park in Grand Island.
Purpose and Structure
The
SLSC aims to reward students for excellence, involve industry
professionals in evaluating student performance, and ensure that
training remains relevant to employers' needs.

span a wide array of fields, including automotive technology,
carpentry, health care, culinary arts, robotics, and leadership events
like public speaking and parliamentary procedure

contestant is allowed to compete in one contest from Category 1 and one
from Category 2, with the option to enter multiple Category 3 contests,
which are typically state-only events
. Winners
of the state competitions may advance to the National Leadership and
Skills Conference (NLSC), held June 23–27, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia
.
Public Access and Community Involvement
The
championships are free and open to the public, offering a unique
opportunity to witness Nebraska's top technical students in action.
